Default Front recovery point?

Just wondering if I can use the mount for my nudge bar on the left hand side (Right Hand Drive) as a recovery point. It has what looks like the reinforcing bracket that comes with tow hooks is there already, with the bracket connecting to the bumper mount and then to the unibody about 6-8inches back. The bottom of the bracket also has another fairly hefty L shaped plate (1/2" thick?) connected to the underside of it. Looks like it may have been the shipping tie down point. The Plastics under the bumper also have a hole cut just in front of this which would imply to me that is where a recovery hook would poke through. Can I pull off this L plate and replace it with a Tow hook?

I'll post pictures tonight. Just thought I'd see if anyone had similar. Mine came with a nudge bar already on and a tow package, so rear recovery point is not a problem, but I want to add a front point.

Here are some pics, sorry for the delay...

I've tried to highlight the bit that I'm talking about. You can see the L bracket I was talking about being connected to it. In the first image I've tried to show the arm that goes back and ties in to the unibody, you can't see the front of the bracket in that pic because of the rubber matt. You can see it in the second one though.
