Front and Rear Driveshaft U-Joints: are they the same?
in my ongoing saga of helping a kid fix his XJ, we finally had to replace the transfer case (not too bad a job).
We got one from the junkyard but couldn't get the front driveshaft off (one bolt needed a lot of heat) so the junkyard let him take it as well ($109 for transfer case and front driveshaft). BTW, after flushing it out, it seems to work great.
According to eBay that front driveshaft is pretty valuable ($100+ -- selling it could pay for the transfer case) if it is refurbished, but I cannot seem to find the u-joints for it.
Are they the same as the ones used in the rear driveshaft?
