Front brake pads
New to Jeeps and I have a 96 Cherokee that needs front pads. Any suggestions...won't be a high mile driver but have on long hill to contend with.
I've used NAPA before and had good luck with other cars.
Also anyone know if the 96 Cherokee had "slide out rotors"?

Yup, just slide the old ones off, and the new ones on after cleaning up the hub & never-sleazing them. I have Wagners on mine now, but I've used Hawk, Raybestos, and Performance Friction before.
In fact here's what I got on mine now. Wagner pads, rotors from G-Force Brakes on Ebay.

One where the hub is not part of the rotor assy. Mainly 2WD everything from the early 90's back. Where the rotor, hub and wheel bearings are all part of the rotor assy.
Hub & Rotor Assy.:

A front wheel drive car would be the same as your Jeep- slides off
What BoetieGuy3 is talking about is like a full-size truck where there is a spindle nut retaining the bearings. Your bearings/hub is a sealed unit, and is one assembly- It doesn't come off that easy. If you're just changing out your rotors, that doesn't need to come off. When you pull off your caliper, you'll need Torx sockets (depending on the year). Once the caliper is removed, the rotor will "slide off"
Not every state in the Union has an Oreilly's, but I know that Oreilly's and Auto Zone offer lifetime warranty on certain lines of brake pads AND rotors. My F350 has a Dana 60 front, and the rotors are big money- so I opted to spend a little more and get the lifetime rotors. You get lifetime rotors, and you won't have to have them turned next time you do the brakes...saving yourself time and money- just take them back up there for exchange. Autozone and Oreill'ys also keep a computerized warranty on file using your phone number- so you don't need to hold onto your receipt for warranty like you would at Pepboys or Napa. I try to avoid Napa like the plague. Those guys are high dollar.
