X2 I got ripped about not having a cat on my rig.....but somehow they forgot to ask me what year it was....You don't have to have a cat on ANYTHING older then 78, but If you have something newer just keep it on, or put a high flow on. Besides thats ammo for them green guys to shut us down

skater- Yeah some people on here are WAY to obsessed over this issue.

When ever we have a topic about something like this instead of just putting in your input on the topic people start attacking and take the whole topic out of context. BOTTOM LINE ITs NOT YOUR JEEP SO DONT STRESS OUT SO MUCH ABOUT IT!!!

hahaha, yeah. take all this with a grain of salt. We are all full of "this is what I would do" as soon as cat is mentioned panties get in a bunch, kind of a bummer.

Who attacked anyone? Because some dont agree or want to comply with a law that is good for the environment you dont want to be called on it? You need to realize the law is in place for the good of the people as a whole... and not an individual.

i was jsut gvin yall a hard time. and im all for tread lightly! leave it cleaner than you found it. but even if ev1 cut their cats off and their cars ran horrible. if wouldnt make a diff. the pollution created by people only accounts for like 3 to 4% of the pollutants in the air. one volcanic erruption produces more polutants than we coudl in 1000 yrs. so i jsut personally think this whole we are killing the earth with our big evil cars is a huge load of ****! lol. but hey im jsut here to have a good time and help out where i can. and speakin of them cords. Hook me up! lol. no hard feelin bud!

I don't know about this whole "Federal Law thing". Because the Muffler Guy and shop owner that removed my cat. had been in the business for 35 years and he told me, before he cut it off, that Washington state had no law against it. So, armed with that info. I narurally said, lose the cat. and make it 2.5" through a Flow Master 40 and out the back. I was 30 miles north of Mt. St. Helens when she blew....and I've lived in Washington for all but 8 years of my 40. I've also worked on aircraft carrier flightdecks for 20, up close and personal with jet aircraft. So, I've seen and been exposed to enough pollution to know the little bit my XJ is producing is the least of our worries.

My XJ in the video is running a Borla full length header, Products for Power catalytic converter, and a Flowmaster 40 series muffler all 2.5" pipes from the header back.

Keep your cat but just modify it a little. Take a plasma cutter to it and gut the thing and weld it back up. Its still there and only you will know it is hollowed out. Just do a nice job.... my .02
