Does anyone know off hand if a front axle shaft from a 91XJ Laredo would fit a 98XJ Sport?
There's a question in my mind as to whether the passenger side front shaft on the 98 is bent and have access to the 91 for parts. It'd be nice if I could swap them and save a few bucks.
TIA

Direct swap. The older shafts will have a 260 ujoint, smaqller than the 297 later shafts. If your a stocker it shouldnt be much concern, but if your wheeling this Jeep look for a 95+ or ABS shaft.. as they will be 297 jointed.

Thanks
geeze...I didn't even think about the u-joint part. I was just thinking length, splines, etc. Well if I do go this route and it proves out to be the old shaft, I'll go to the the JY and get the correct one (definitely before I replace the axle seals).
Thanks again
