Front Axle Replacement
Hello, I‘ve got a stock automatic 01 XJ. I need to replace front diff housing and left stub axle but think its easier to just replace the whole axle.
Does anyone have tips on where to get a complete front axle or has faced this problem aswell ?
Also, can i take a HP diff axle from an older model ?
Cheers and thanks for your help

Not sure what you mean by front diff housing. If you mean the front diff internals, I would say that there are pros/cons to swapping out the entire front axle. Main issue with swapping out an entire front axle is that you don't know what you're getting until you use it. The axle seals (at the diff housing) could be toast. Pinion seal could be toast. The diff could be toast. The ball joints could be toast. But if you are willing to take a gamble and can do the swap yourself, its going to be much less expensive than having a shop rebuild the front diff.
