Hey guys ! I noticed the other day that my front left axel u-joint is getting bad. I also noticed that rear end grease was seeping out the seal or cap (lack of better work) . Would this have something to do with the bad u joint ? And what needs to be done to fix it ?

Are you indicating that the differential lube is leaking out the end of the front axle housing on the same side as the u joint is wearing out? Some exta vibrations of the axle with the failing/failed u joint is probably flexing the seal inside the housing. If you replace the ujoint very soon you may not have to do a seal replacement. Don't let it go on much longer. Grease the thing like crazy and in for service. The seal necessitates a much more labour intensive proceedure than just the u joint.

 

Yes thats what im indecating . The thing is though theres is a fair amount of grease built up on steering knuckle. Almost thinking its too far gone
