Recently bought a cherokee and found this, not a mechanic but I know that can't be good lol. [ATTACH]found this on the new cherokee-img_4239.png[/ATTACH]

Thats where the transmission dip stick tube brace is supposed to be supported by a bellhousing bolt.

so the space there under the missing bolt is supposed to be there?

You can see where the bracket was from the "grim shadow". It looks like the bolt fell out and someone jammed the bracket between the bellhousing and the dust cover. That gap you're looking at is no big deal if all the bolts are lined up.

relocate the bracket where it's supposed to be and get another bolt and you're done.

The bolts are lined up and there is still the gap. Does it matter if water gets in there because this jeep is going deep.
