yeah ive checked all of them around here... even see them broke down in people yards and stop to take a looksy... nothing... did find a 4 door with a 3.5 or 4.5 lift with full packs and new MT's the other day... oh and a brush guard... older fella said it was his sons but he was kill in a wreck and now his grand son has it... said he was gonna ask him if he wanted to sell it this weekend and to stop by net week... they thought it had a bad tranny but they put a new one in it and it did the same thing... something about a sensor... but they never finished it and its been sitting for like 8 months... maybe something will turn up good there... i could get the lift, brush guard, tires, AND motor mounts... lol... no dana44 though... i want this one so bad... told him id trade my brand new craftsman leaf blower still in the box that was $150... lol... maybe he will take my band saw since hes building a krawler and all... he may need that... lol...

I picked my 87 up from pull-a-part for 65 bucks. Went ahead and grabed all the parts for a disc brake swap while I was there since the drums were missing off it. There are deals out there usually you find them when your not looking...

The D44 is a good replacement for the D35 / 8.25 27 spline, since it bolts right in. The 29 spline 8.25 has it's pro's and con's over the D44 but is about the same strength which is what you should have in a 2001. So the swap really wouldn't be worth it to you. With a 2001 you need to be looking into grabing a 97-99 HP D30 front since jeep got dumb and put LP's in the 2000's.

The axles in the J-truck should be a 60 rear and a 44 front. Very good axles to swap into an XJ. If you can get them for a few hundred bucks a peice or for pair. You might want to build them up to go under the XJ.
