Fluid Leak
Had front u joint replacement done yesterday on my '95 XJ, drove around for around 25 miles afterwards with no noise or other problems. This morning there is fluid on the garage floor from both sides.
Cleaned off and drove a few miles this morning, there is still some fluid leaking from around the u joint/shaft area on both sides. Does anyone think it may just be residual or could the repair shop have messed up on the seals?

it is possible that some fluid escaped into the tubes when they pulled the shafts out, then it would just run out the end. but see if it does this continuously or if it stops over the next couple days.
otherwise in order to have it leak from axle u-joints, they would have to have slid the shafts back in along the bottom of the axle tube. this would not only drag in a bunch of mud/dirt to the center section, but the end of the shaft would have to hit the seal at the pumpkin and tear the rubber to let the diff fluid leak out. it's just weird that it would happened to both sides at the same time.
if it still leaks, i'd take it back and get them to change out the seals on their dime.
it's a bit of a job to do, so they prolly won't take the responsibility as you need to remove the carrier and both axle shafts again then change the seals on the inside ends of the tubes at the pumpkin.

Caged, problem solved.
Thanks for the info brother, they did in fact mess up the seals during re-assembly. Took it back and they replaced them, everything is working fine, but will keep an eye on it for a while. Thanks again for the response.
