Flip Kit? Lift advice for beginner/resources?
So i have a friend that was into prerunner trucks and a little here and there of everything and I asked him what I should do to lift my jeep and he told me to get a flip kit. I've heard of moving the axles below the leaf springs before but im wondering what this will mess with. I imagine that something would have to be done about the axles? I havent even looked under my xj yet to really understand the setup, its a 90. I'm not lookin to drop a **** ton of money but I don't wanna do any afro engineering. Please give me some ideas on what is the best way to go and the advantages of different techniques.

You can't do a flip kit on a Cherokee because the axle is already under the leaf pack.
Edit: Dang two people beat me to it haha,
Here's a cheap kit that will let you clear 30" tires http://rubiconexpress.com/Suspension...px?part=RE6160

alright haha this makes sense, well its a daily driver and absolutely has to be driveable on the street. I would like to bump it up and put some 32-33s on it and start doing some here and theres so i can take it in some mud and do some trail riding and such. i was reading about adding s10 leaf springs may go that route. What are some other methods and what are the advantages to each? Thanks guys, if ya ever need help with chevys or a dsm let me know!

yup id recommend what was posted above me. plus you might find more fun stuff while diggin through the junk yard. even buying those parts new is pretty cheap. if ya want really cheap i know some people use lowering shackles from chevy pickups to jack up the back end a lil bit and zj coils or f150 coils to lift the front. ur ride quality is gonna suck with f150 coils but ive heard it works

well i got a 99 eclipse with tein ss coil overs and that thing rides like a brick. right now im pretty sure my jeep suspension is about blown but it is about as spongey and comfortable as a caddilac haha. I dont mind sacrificing some comfort but at the same time its not like im working with $25. I was thinking about doing one of these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jeep-...Q5fAccessories
whcih seems pretty darn cheap and then just getting the longer shocks, is there anything else that i would need for this?

a bastard pack is basically adding extra leafs to your stock leaf springs, they work really well, as for catching air, lets just say id try not to, itll mess up tons of things if the air caught is a decent amount.

alright haha im not planning on going out to the motocross track, but **** is just rough out here and if i wanna be aggressive i could see four wheels coming off the ground at times. So what is the difference between add a leafs and the bastard pack? how does this all compare to adding the s10 springs?
** also what is the advantages or differences between doing a coil spacer and going to a longer spring? do the shocks always have to be changed in these situations? not trying to be cheap just dont wanna spend un needed money. thanks

how much total lift you wantin first off? the writeup posted can get ya around 4 inches of lift for round 150 bux depending on parts prices. id suggest doin bastard packs of AALs any day of the week. as for coils spacers work to an extent, longer springs work better IMO, u wont need as big of a spacer that way. make sure you replace the shocks if ya lift it at all.
