Flashing security light for deterrent

Flashing security light for deterrent
I'm thinking of using the security light on my dash (pre-96) for theft deterrent by having it flash. anyone have any idea on how to make it flash via a toggle?

Empty holster on dash, full holster on driver, lol.
Stuff a 12V flashing LED in the back of the housing. It'll run for months without drawing the battery down. Like these:
