Anyone know if you can open up side mirror assemblies? Both of mine have broken internall I think. I cannot adjust them, and the mirror always just falls down. I took one off to look and see, but I couldn't tell how to (if you can) pop it open.

I think you can pop the glass out. It may break, but there should be some way to get inside there. I have not been inside of an XJ mirror, but most of them back the glass with a plastic peice of plastic that has some ball and socket fittings on it that snap into the housing. HTH!!

Thanks for the reply. I took another look but didn't want to break the glass. Since they're shot anyways and new ones are like 150, I ended up just angling them where I wanted them and blasting clear silicon behind the glass. So far so good, I can see around me again!

There is a set screw I think. Mine does the same thing and am going to look at it this weekend.
