I need to replace it on my XJ. Does anyone know if a filler neck from the ZJ will work with some modification to the mounting screws? They look the same and the engines are basically the same 4.0.
Problem being there are a ton of ZJ necks @$25 and the XJ ones seem more rare and they want upwards of $50 for one.
I have rust on mine which makes the code set due to pinholes. I know this because the cap wont screw on without a lot of effort and can see the rust. I also clamped off the vacuum hose to the tank reset code and it runs fine without setting the Large Leak which would instantly come up.

If you buy new, Rockauto shows 3 for the ZJ at $35, $45, and $58, with Spectra being the highest. Only brand they show for the XJ is Spectra, for $30.

 

my question is if you can use the ZJ in place of the XJ filler neck.
