Ok, I just bought an 88 Laredo with an I6 in it from a young lady and she did not know much about it, apparently she bought it from a friend of her fathers. I am sure it has a lift on it but was wondering what would be the best way to figure out how much of a lift it has? Also someone installed a switch to turn the cooling fan on manually for the radiator, should I always have this fan on when the Jeep is running or only when it starts to get hot?

 

If it still has the fender flairs on it measure from the center of the wheel to the bottom of the plastic fender flair. Front should be 17 and back should be 17.5 . I got a hard wire to mine also. I just turn it on when I start getting warm or if Im going really slow.

 

Does the fan get on when you switch on the AC? If yes then prolly the temp. switch in the rad. is bad and needs to be replaced.

 

thanks. front measures 20.5" and rear is 21. must be 3.5" lift. The fan only will come on if I turn it on with the toggle switch mounted under the steering wheel.

What type of MPG should I expect out of this i6 with auto tranny in the comfort setting?

 

Im not sure about mpg, cause I havent started driving my 89 yet, but Ive read in a few places that the renix 4.0s will actually run better on Midgrade gas. Something to do with the crappy quality of regular gas today. I usually tell my girlfriend to only use shell gas for her 96...

 

I put the cheap crap in mine all the time. I run a bottle of injector cleaner every couple tanks to though. I dont know about the mileage but mine sucks. I got a really heavy foot after re gearing mine for some reason so I get 12-14 usually.
