Default a few problems with the xj!

I will try to explain everything as best as possible lol. Well my first problem is i get realy bad wheel hope in 4wd when im out mudding, like if i get into something muddy and i punch it and turn the wheel the front end hopes and bounces. it did it last night playing in the snow covered packing lots. why does it do this and what can be done to fix this??

second problem i noticed when the jeep is cold but the motor is warm ill drive for a bit and when i use my breaks i get a huge clunk from the rear. Drums? anyone help me out would be awesome

thanks dylan

wow, you have the same name as me.. lol

For the wheelhop, have you changed the axles at all. Sounds like maybe your front end has a different ratio.

doesn't sound like you re geared so i'll go this route w/your ? a u-style front end when you turn the wheel actually slows down, the hub that is not the ring and pinion but actually at thewheel, hence the hop u feel. this is why front wheel drives use constant velocity joints they don't lose speed when turned. that said binding or dry u-joints will make it even worse.
