fender/flare trimming

The lift and tire setup I plan on runnin will need a little bit of trimming to allow proper clearance, but...... I think I would like to keep my flares. Any body do this and have any pictures or recomendations?

You'll probably need to provide a little more info. How much lift and what size tires?

You can run 31's and 3" of lift on offset wheels with mild trimming of the front bumper lower portion if you are runnig a 97+ xj, I think there are pics in my profile

i have a 3 inch lift on my 2001 and 31 inch tires and i didnt need to do any trimming....they only rub when i am turned all the way and they only rub on my lower control arms

I'm planning on a 3" with 32's if I keep the flairs. If I lose the flairs I will run 33x10.5's.

I'm at 3"'s of lift on 31's and have no rubbing issues at full turn on road. Offroad disconnected and flexing I'm rubbing the backs of the front bumper caps(Man what a horrific sound that makes) whether turning or going straight. In the rear Im slightly rubbing the backside of the factory flair (with rear swaybar still hooked up). Needless to say I'll be doing some trimming.

i have 3in lift with 33/11.5 with spacers...and alot of trimmimg transpired. I'm getting coil spacers next week so i can flex while turning haha.

if ur 97 and under, i would keep the flares on and cut the bottom of them off, level them off with the headlight bezel. i took mine off and threw them away and well kinda wish i hadnt.

If you want to keep the flares, start by carefully taking them off and use PB Blaster prior to avoid breaking bolts. After that, see how much you'll need to trim off. Before you start to trim, line up the new holes above the old ones and mark it with a sharpie. Then after you trim everything off, you won't have to do guess and check.

I have a 3 inch lift with 32x11.5 BFG Km2's i took of the fenders and cut were they used to lay on the body and i the seem that the 2 body panles make inside the wheel well cuz i was flexing so much it was cutting my tires u can see pics on my profile.

If you wanna run those 33" with no issues then you should really consider trimming your fender flares...
