Fan Motor
Hey Jeep Cherokee Dudes, I have noticed that when using my defrost, or a/c, I have an awful noise coming from under the hood. Upon further investigation it's coming from an electric fan that is on the drivers side of the radiator. I figure it's a bearing or a motor, but I don't have a manual, and I was wondering what this was called so I could get the right part to fix it. Thanks in advance.

It's an assembly.
Don't know your year, but here's a start.

Okie doke thanks! So it's the a/c condenser fan motor. Thanks!
It's an auxiliary fan. Comes on when the A/C compressor does and if the coolant temp reaches around 217 degrees. Again we don't know your XJ's year but.....
