Ok, I just bought this 89 xj 4.0 4x4 and I don't see an electric fan...all the a/c crap is gone and the fan is gone too....do I need an electric fan as I have not yet felt it was overheating??? Can I use any fan? How would you set up an electric fan from another vehicle so it comes on at a certain temperature?

The fan operates when ac is on . If ac is gone then its not needed. I use mine on a switch so I can run it when wheeling. Other than that I dont use it.

 

it does provide extra cooling when temp exceeds 217. throw one in and put on switch and watch your temp gauge
