Fan eating radiator
I have a 90 model that I put a 91 radiator in to get the open system. Ran great for a while and I hit the gas hard one day and bang, fan hot the radiator.
Next radiator did the same thing after a month or so under the same conditions. I had cut some metal out of the radiator support thinking the fan contacted it and pulled itself into the radiator.
I replaced the engine mounts and they were in pretty bad shape so I thought I was set again. NOPE! Did it again. By this time I am getting broke and mad.
This is over a couple of months time.
I have a new radiator and a fan from the pull a part. I am looking at the busted radiator still in the jeep and really cannot see how this happens. I clearly see the shiny metal and tore up radiator but the fan blades are at least a half inch away from anything. I cannot get anything to move much by pushing and pulling.
Anybody ever run into this?
I am not going to put another fan on it until I know it is right
Would two of the jeep electric fans be enough to cool one of these 4.0's?

sounds like you have a busted motor mount again or even a trans mount. open hood and put in drive with brake on give it a little gas and see how much the motor moves up ...most likely yer issue

I have two new engine mounts and have power braked it with help. The engine does not move like a broken motor mount. Really moves very little but I am used to the 460 in my F100. It will rock the whole truck.
I think the left side of the radiator is pushing in from the wrecks this thing was in before I ended up with it. I have to find a way to either make room to push the radiator forward somehow
