I'm pretty sure the fan clutch needs to be replaced on my truck. Is the correct procedure for checking it? Is it cool engine no resistance , warm engine some resistance? Right now my fan has resistance when cool but I can turn it, but it won't spin freely if I push it. Thanks

 

there should be some resistance to it all the time but when hot it should be very hard to turn if not replace it

dont forget side to side play.......FYI my clutch fan will spin 1 blade when it is warm...and maybe 2-3 blades when cold. yours should be simular.
