Default Fan Clutch and Flush

Last year I replaced the water pump and thermostat. This year I am smelling radiator fluid. It seems I have a leak. I was planning to remove the radiator and flush it and install a new fan clutch since it is original and I own a 1995. Any tips or suggestions? Is it worth flushing or should I just replace with the 100 dollar deal from autozone. I rather a 2 or 3 core, but just not in the cards right now.

Also I seem to be loosing a quart or two a week from the radiator. Overflow container is fine, hoses are new. I just saw a lot of sediment in the radiator last time I filled it. Figure a good flush with it out couldn't hurt.

On that note what is the best way to flush it to really make sure it is clear and free flowing?

Myself I'd start by actually finding where it's leaking coolant and making that smell. It's under the hood I assume, and not in the cab. Up to 1/2 gallon a week? Maybe listening somewhere quiet while it's parked good'n hot? I'd find the leak and pass on a new radiator if yours isn't leaking or overheating. Of course the clutch isn't leaking. Do look good at the t-stat housing.

IM NO EXPERT HERE. MINE JUST "AUTO FLUSHED", MOSTLY ON THE WINDSHIELD. I FOUND THE LEAK OK THOUGH. (note a section of the cover landed over on the manifold's!)(I chopped the hose, hooked it back, added the 2 gal's I had and made it down off the "summit" to the Napa at the bottom for the $20 hose)
