if he gets the RC 4.5LA kit that is a moot issue because it comes with quick disconnects for the sway bar.
Sorry bro, I have to disagree. It sounds like the OP is new to Jeeps. Been driving it along time and know how it handles with and without the swaybar is one thing, Being new to it leave it on and go with disconnects for offroad flex. Yeah, you can get away with not having one,if you never run into trouble. You swerve to miss an accident or an animal, your rolling. Plain and simple, do the right thing, go with disconnects, safe on the street, flex on the trail.

Yea it might be fine under certian driving conditions BUT who knows when something or someone will jump in front of you and you have to suddenly brake and swerve.
If its your family, you want to do everything you can to keep them safe. So if keeping the swaybar on keeps them safer. Thats what you should do.

I wasn't recommending for him to run without a sway bar. I would never recommend that to anyone on the forum. But if someone honestly asks if you can run without them I'll tell them the truth. I've had a few scares where I've had to swerve in my Jeep while on the highway and I haven't had it tip. I've done donuts in a parking lot and to get a rear tire to lift off the ground you have to really yank the wheel hard and be going a good 20mph

To the OP: MAKE SURE you get sway bar disconnects. It'll keep your kid and wife safer on the road make sure you also teach them how to safely drive the Jeep.

i only bought the jeep because i blew up my explorer. i bought it for 850 bucks, and its good enough to get me through the winter. come spring, i drive the corvette and the bikes. then i will take the jeep apart and fix everything that is wrong with it. then lift it and all the fun stuff.

but until then, its what gets me around
