98 xj remote works when ever it wants i replaced the bat on the remote 3 times and the P.O.S still does it works when ever it wants any help would be great

i would venture to say that maybe the the button has worn away.. to the point it only functions correctly when hit the right way. we have the same problem wth our 2003 suburban. i just stopped using them because theyre to finicky.
