Default Factory Mopar Crank Pos Sensor

Went to the local Jeep dealer for a crank sensor for my 91 xj. He said they don't have any, can't get em.

Everyone says to buy oem. Where would I get one? I looked at a few online mopar parts places, but couldn't find it there either.

I bought one off Amazon a couple of months ago. I don't know if early/late model are the same part, though. Probably a different pigtail.

You can also go to Rock Auto the OMIX-ADA brand I'm told is the OEM . I not sure about that , maybe some one else knows if that's true .

EXTREMELY hard to find the OEM MOPAR replacements for our years. The part number is 4638128. I was lucky enough to find an old NOS piece for mine a year ago, but the first dealership I bought one from said they had it, had the listing for it on ebay, but didn't pull it from the shelf so it ended up being installed in another Jeep and I got screwed out of the part. Got my money back but it still took me a bit to track another one down.

OMIX-ADA is an aftermarket manufacturer that makes parts "to OEM spec", but then again Standard, Airtex, etc. allege the same thing.... it's really just hit or miss with the quality you end up with and how long it will last.

I would definitely call and make sure they have it. Some of those overstock places get a little optimistic with their inventory.

So I just got an email back from mopar parts overstock saying "CHRYSLER HAS SUPERSEDED THE COST OF THIS PART TO $98.45".

I paid 60.15 plus 19.95 shipping for the cps. Anyone delt with this dealer before? This ticks me off and I feel they should honor their price.

Are there any other dealers with this part?

Sixty dollars for the thing, then twenty bucks shipping for a part that can fit in a cigarette pack!? Really? Man, do not buy it. I bought TWO off ebay for less than twenty bucks shipped. ALL of these things are made in China now. The quality is the same you're just paying for a name like Omix ADA. Put mine in a year ago and I still have a spare in case that Chinese OEM part fails. But then again, it is your money.

Only dealings I've ever had with them is to look up the part I need and find it elsewhere.... almost like having an online parts catalogue at your fingertips.

I would copy the page if still shows the lower price and send it to them and tell them that it is still at the same price and see what happens .

Still showing 60.15 on their website... at the very least, I would file a BBB complaint against them if they don't honor their advertised price.

I sent an email back saying they need to honor their price. Shortly after I got this, "HELLO I AM SORRY CHRYSLER UPDATED THE COST OF THE PART AND THE WEB SITE DID NOT CATCH UP YET. I WILL CANCEL AND REFUND YOUR ACCOUNT".

I will take my refund and go elsewhere I guess. Never seen this happen with an online retailer.

What brand did you go with? I was after the genuine Mopar because most everyone here on the forum said the aftermarket cps are hit and miss.
