My battery in my Cherokee is 12 years old and still keeping it alive. but if I leave the doors open for 5min or longer the battery will not have enough power to start now. I even checked the levels in the battery and filled them a little but it seems the battery's holding charge is to weak now and if I drive it, I have to get in and just start it to get it running. I went to the Mopar dealer today at the dealership to get a new factory battery since I want to get everything factory on my Cherokee "if can". They say they can't find a battery that will fit my vehicle. So I told them to try a 2001 Cherokee and same thing, So then a 2006 TJ Wrangler and same. So did Mopar quit making batteries for the 4.0 size battery space? If not then I'll just have to go get one of the part store batteries witch is what I got in the Cherokee now. My Chevy truck I went through 3 dead cell batteries I got from Autozone.
Wal-Mart EverStart is the undisputed king of batteries. Actually they're made by Johnson Controls, who produces over 50% of car batteries in the US. They even make Optima Batteries. You buy them at Wal-Mart because they sell them at the lowest price. 34 is the battery group size for 4 Liter Jeeps.

If your Cherokee is a 1991 like in your signature, the battery would be a group 58, (at least that is what my 92 calls for). They are not as common as they once were, but you can still find them at parts stores. Try to find a battery that has a longer warranty. Some only offer a year or so, some offer three. If you do not have a large number of aftermarket accessories, a stock battery will work just fine for you.
Batteries are a commodity item with only a few manufacturers. Mopar just resells them with their label and a heavy markup. Walmart or Costco are where I get mine. They have enough turn-over that they are selling a dead battery that's been on the shelf for 2 years.
I recently fitted a 620CCA 120min RC battery, 4yr warranty, (on sale)
its hard to find an economical one with more grunt that will fit the standard spot, but I consider those specs to be probably better than factory ?
You got a good run with 12yrs, my 5yr old one got sick and died in the driveway (again), so I Lithium jumped stared it and drove to the auto shop

I got one now, I had to order it. Group Size 58 | Mopar 72 Series Part No. BB058550AA | 550 CCA.
The guy said they change the part numbers frequently, so that is why they are hard to find.
My current one I bought in 2008 was a Duralast 540 CCA non Gold. In my 2001 Chevy 1500 I got the gold Duralast and each one had a dead cell. dome Lights would be very dim and vehicle would still start but one day after work it was completely dead and not even any dim lighting. The next 2 were the same. I have a AC Delco in it now.

My 1996 would only fit a 58 with no modifications. 34 fit with slight trimming of the battery box walls to accommodate the extra length of the battery. The 34 hit the hood otherwise.
I went with the 34 because they ended up being cheaper. As others have said, I couldn't find too many options for the 58.
