I just printed out my build sheet and it says there is a 117 amp alternator in it. Does this sound normal? Was this an option that could be put in rather than the 90amp? I just looked on Autozones website and all they have is a 90amp alternator for my jeep...
Side note from the build sheet, it says I'm supposed to have tinted windows everywhere, but not a single one of my windows is tinted... which sucks... weird...

Mines a 117 amp never really thought about it.
"Tinted" just means some form of UV protection. "Privacy glass" is the term they use for what we think of as tinted. I thought the same thing. My parts Jeep has factory privacy glass.
Dang it... stupid technical terms...
I've gotten quotes for about $250 or so to do all 11 pieces of glass on the XJ
Spencer P is right about the tinted being just UV protection and Privacy is what we would call "tinted".
The front doors from the factory are not Privacy. Just regular glass.
In your Jeep pretty sure you could swap all the glass over to Privacy yourself if you can find the parts in the boneyard.
In my '00 the PO had cheap aftermarket tints that turned purple in there. I was quoted $200 or $250 to remove and replace the tints
by the go to place in my area. This was rear doors, cargo bay windows and hatch.
Opted to swap out my tinted glass for Privacy. $200 for the parts in the boneyard, $100 to my glass guy to remove the hatch window
from the boneyard Jeep, remove mine, and replace, and $32 for a new hatch molding.
I did the rear doors and the cargo bay windows. I did not trust myself to do the hatch. It gets gunked in and did not want it to leak. LOL.
My point is that I am almost positive that hatch glass in a '96 and down is like cargo bay glass. Just held in with the molding.
Which means you can do it yourself.
Here is the way I see it. I spent $82 to $132 more then tints would have cost me. Depending on the price I was quoted which I can't remember.
Now I have "tinted" glass that I can't scratch the tint off of.
Do you have a rear defogger? Cause I think that is the only way Privacy glass comes in a Jeep.
Also to make sure it works you can check continuity with a meter before you buy it.
Shot of my swap. Turned purple still in the cargo bay and the driver's rear door I already swapped to Privacy glass.

I was gonna say I'll leave it to Ralph to convince you to swap to privacy glass lol.
I would say I'm more apt to take it to a place, pay the $250 and get a lifetime warranty. I don't really have the extra time to replace a bunch of windows with working nearly 50 hours a week, a 3 year old, a nearly 10 month old, and all of the evening chores to get them fed, bathed, in bed, feed myself and wife, normal house chores, etc...... But I have seen videos from the Bleepin' Jeep YT channel on how to remove the glass though. It crossed my mind to start that project, but...meh...
I DO have a rear defogger, but its not privacy. Are you saying ALL privacy glass has the defogger? or all defoggers are supposed to be privacy glass? But
, I figure for $35 I'll take a chance and install the tint myself. XJ glass is pretty flat so it shouldn't be too hard to install. My build sheet also lists the 117 amp alternator, I'm curious to know if that is actually the alternator that is installed in my vehicle.
I thought about DIY tint, but I feel like I might drive myself crazy trying to get it perfect .... Lemme know how it comes out! With pics!! And if it was a PITA...

That is one of the reasons I went the route I did. I don't think I could have done a good job.
I could have peeled off the old tint on my Jeep from the cargo and rear door windows no problem.
But was concerned about the hatch window and screwing up the rear defogger.
Figure this would have saved me a couple bucks with a professional install.
But then there is the when I scratch the tint putting something in my Jeep it will just haunt me.
Every time I look at it I would just get pissed off all over again. LOL.
So I figured just do the swap.
