Default exhaust up pipe

Hi everyone I'm new to the Jeep life I bought a 1989 charokee for a really cheap price but of course that comes with fixing it up and I've ran in to a issue the new up pipe has a factory made hole toward wat is this for?? O2 sensor?? I'm not sure there is an O2 sensor on the manifold. Also it a 2.5l if tht helps and advice will help.

A picture would help. Pretty sure the hole for the O2 sensor and EGR tube are on the cast iron exhaust manifolds (above where the downpipe attaches with the two bolts and gasket).

You have the TBI which has the EGR and O2 on the exhaust manifold. The newer MPI does not have the EGR and the O2 is on the downpipe and NOT on the manifold.

Your downpipe has been replaced with the newer MPI downpipe, that is all that's available now.....same pipe for both applications.

Yours should have a plug in the O2 bung.

Trash the EGR, you don't need it.
