Default Exhaust Question

So my muffler is all rotted out and is in need of replacement but i want to be able to really hear the jeep. would just putting a straight pipe in place of the muffler be ok or would it cause drivability issues or reduce my mpgs?

i lost a couple mpgs just putting a flowmaster 44 in so id imagine youd lose some with straight pipes but it wouldnt effect the driveability

you lost mpg's because after you put the muffler on you drive it harder to hear it! haha

yea same here. if you want it really loud put a cherry bomb on there, but i have a magnaflow cat and flowmaster 2 chamber (like 5 years old) on there and mine sounds great!

A straight pipe would be even louder than a glasspack or similar style muffler.

Not to mention you'll most likely be breaking the noise laws.

But you know your area better than most/all of us. You'd know if the police in your area would care.
