So my muffler is all rotted out and is in need of replacement but i want to be able to really hear the jeep. would just putting a straight pipe in place of the muffler be ok or would it cause drivability issues or reduce my mpgs?

A straight pipe would be even louder than a glasspack or similar style muffler.
Not to mention you'll most likely be breaking the noise laws.
But you know your area better than most/all of us. You'd know if the police in your area would care.
