Exhaust manifold stud replaced with a bolt?

Exhaust manifold stud replaced with a bolt?
If one of the exhaust manifold studs comes out from the block, is it a terrible thing to replace it with a bolt with one of the washers instead? Have one of those available while I will have to go find a stud.
