My exhaust manifold is cracked at the collector. Should I have it welded or get an aftermarket replacement? If you suggest aftermarket what brand or brands should i be looking at?

Thanx!

If it's in good shape and you can get the job done for cheap weld it up and replace your engine mounts.

If you are going to take off the manifold to get it welded, take off the downpipe that goes between the manifold and cat. Have a flex piece cut and welded into it. It will help with stress on the manifold.

What would be the ideal location of the flex piece?

As the exhaust crosses under the transmission bell. That cross over is like a big lever as the engine rotates. Factory style motor mounts are worthless.
