The fact that you don't know the expression, says enough.
There is very little between " Mummy, I can't find my shoes" and your "I can't find a whole set".
You Xbox generation seem to be having trouble getting through life when there is not an app readily available to help you with an issue. Asking for help is fine, but how about you put a bit more effort in things, to be a bit more self sufficient? You know, tie your own shoelaces. Or buy Velcro.
