excessive heat

While on my road trip my right foot got extremely hot. I don't have any exhaust leaks. Is their suppose to be a heat sheild under the xj on the underbody by the trans?? Any help would be great.

exhaust pipe is there . I would guess you have a 6, check for holes in floor or excessive heat in the pipe maybe a bad injector
