Well I waited as long as I could before posting up this thread for help in order to exhaust all options, but I am now out of options. I have a 1995 cherokee I-6 4wd 2dr that recently experienced a leaking heater core. I went through the necessary dissasembly only to end up bending the tubing on the evaporator core in order to unseize it from the aluminum block it was screwed into. I wanted to replace everything anyway so I wasn't to upset about it. The heater core was no problem to get ahold of but the evaporator core has been hell. Autozone strangely enough had what looked to be the stoutest one of all yet it did not have the orfice in back for the probe that is equiped with my unit, PepBoys was all wrong, and a local shop who deals specifically with Auto A/C was unable to match it either. It was too tall and the orfice was too small. The dealer stated that they can no longer order this item as it is discontinued. I am trying NAPA in the morning but I am going on two weeks between waiting for each one of these to come in and be wrong. My question is if I need the probe as I am not sure what it is controlling? When autozone looked up the Grands along with several years back and forward they all came up with the same part number and I find it hard to believe that mine is the only one with this design. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
