Error Code 12 fix?

Error Code 12 fix?
my cherokee just shut off on the way home from work this morning. I'm getting a code 12 then 55 (end of codes). I know what a code 12 means, but I don't know how to fix it. It turns over, but doesn't fire. Also, with the key in the on position the fan doesn't blow. Any tips?

I'd check spark and fuel pressure. Also, sometimes the connector on the ign. switch melts...
