Engine temp light coming on.
Have had my 94 Cherokee XJ 4.0 I6 for about 3 weeks. Driving down the road it's fine. Slow with tires spinning, light comes on. Engine seems to get a little hot, but not to the point in overheating. I flushed my radiator and water seems to be flowing a little slow through it. Still good flow. I first thought I needed a water pump, talked to the guy at a local parts store, he stated I have a sediment build up on the bottom of my radiator. He told me to touch the bottom of the rad. and see if it's hot when the engine gets hot. It was warm but I shouldn't be able to hold my hand on the bottom of my rad.
What do you guys think? A rad for my jeep is $60 off ebay new, or $100 at the part store. Could it just be a dummy light?
Also I checked the fans. They both come on as needed.

Dummy light sensor on the head right next to the firewall. You should have two sensors. One on the thermostat housing and one on the drivers side of the vehicle again by the firewall. There are two sensors, one for the light and one for the gauge. Believe the one sensor for the light should have a black tip on it.Should be right by the engine ground strap. The white tip is for the gauge if you have one. Sorry I did see you said you had flushed it. Misread it.

Don't worry about the sensor. If you don't have a full gauge and only have idiot lights it's not doing you any good anyway. But for the record your '94 does have 2 coolant temp sensors, one on the thermostat housing for the ecu, and another on the drivers side back of the head for your idiot light. The first thing you need to do is verify temps. Find an IR temp gun and check the temp at the thermostat housing and the back of the block.
