engine temp
just replaced me t stat and now my temp runs up to like 235 then back down to 210 and back up to 235 and back down and it did not do that before the new stat and it is a 195 stat anyone no what that is about thanks

Its normal for it to go up and down about 20 degrees maybe the gage is off a bit. Have you checked the engine temp with a gun or anything

I haven't checked it with a gun and this happens when it is running what's crazy is the fan runs when the heater is on and when you put the heater in the off position the fan turns off is that normal I like to think iam pretty savey when it comes to cars but this has me a little stumped lol thanks for any help

The auxilliary fan is designed to come on when your coolant reaches a certain temperature or it comes on and stays on whenever your AC pump is on I.E. whenever using AC or Defrost.

Yea it is on when the defrost is on and never goes off do you guys think it would help to put a little cooler stat in it like a 180 or so

I ordered the factory Thermostat for my jeep it's a 190.And my gauge stay between 190 and 210 and my electric fan runs all the time.

I just flushed it all out and put all new antifreeze in it for the winter and thought it would be a good idea to replace the stat while I was at it and it ran at like 190 to 210 never above 210
