Default engine swap question

My engine died a bit ago. My rig is a 2000 cherokee, I6 4.0

Looked at an engine today. not to bad. Owner said it leaked some oil at the rear main, so I'll change that. I have a question though. My engine is a 2000 and the new engine is from a 96. The exhaust headers are different right? can I just use the header from the 96?

You have to swap the intake and exost manifolds and maybe the head or just the senors. Just to be safe you should do a complete seal kit and you have to do a rear main to do the swap.

Also the 96 had a distributer and my 2000 cherokee didn't. Is it just a matter of swapping the stuff from my 2000 engine to the 96 engine?
