Default Engine Swap

I am looking to swap the 2.8 litre out of my 1984 xj with a 4.0 litre. I was just wondering what all this would take if anything at all. Would it mount right up? Thanks you for any help you guys offer.

You might as well just get a new jeep because that is what you will end up with afterwards. However you can bolt in the Camaro 3.4L that makes 160 hp. It is a direct bolt in. Just make sure you use the 3.4 flywheel or flex plate.

you will basically need the whole other jeep to swap stuff over.... (complete harness, all sensors, your crossmember will need to be moved back roughly 6") lots of etc................... if the donor vehicle is in decent enough shape your better off switching all your accesories over

Yes. Just get the wiring and ECM for it. You can use the in tank pumps for the 4.0L. You might want to upgrade your radiator to a two row if you haven't already.
