engine swap
I have a 88' Cherokee that has a bad engine and I found a 99' 4.0 h.o. for a good price, my question is will the newer h.o. engine work fine in my older non h.o. Cherokee? Thanks in advance.

it will work fine.... after you swap out all the sensor harness's and sensors and then add a bunch of wiring to it...
if your gonna swap with those years (88-99) you might as well swap the entire wiring harness throughout the jeep, those newer jeeps have 2 o2 sensors where the older ones i believe have only one if any
its alot more work than just motor out and new motor in... head-ache, painstaking, pissing off kinda work
