Hi, New to the forums. Have had a 1997Cherokee 4.0 for years. I have been looking at a 2003 Cherokee that needs a motor (4.7) I have found one but its 2006 from a Durango. I have been reading up on this and I'm not sure of the crankshaft tone wheel (16 tooth vs 32). Bottom line will a 2006 motor work in as 2003 replacement.

 

When you say 2003 cherokee im guessing you mean grand cherokee

 

Yeah, try the GC forum for better results. Our XJs didn't come with the 4.7!
