Default Engine stalls when black wire frm alternator pinched.

Hi guys...
My cherokee xj 1996 4.0 auto has been cranky lately...
It will dies off while driving. It will start up whe cranked.
It happens when the road is uneven or I hit a pot hole...
So..what I did is to start the jeep and start wiggling the wires...
I found that when I touched the thick black wire from the altenator...the engine will stall(pic attached)...
When the engine is running..if I pinch the wires hard it will stall too.
The wires look ok...no hard bend or damaged insulators...
What could be the cause?
I secured the wire nicely and it seems ok...should I change the alternators wires?Anyone came across this problem before?
Appreciate all inputs.Thank you.Engine stalls when black wire frm alternator pinched.-sdc14540.jpg

Yea, youre best bet would be to replace the grounds, that wire is proobably eroded from the inside.

Thank you for the input...by any chance anyone knows the part number for the wires?
The black wire will link directly to the small black rubberish box to the rear of the alternator. There are 3 wires coming out from it
Do not know if it there is a diff....mine is ia right hand drive.
Thank you.

I'd Check that all their connections are tight.

The Green with orange tracer is from the ASD relay
The solid Green should be from the PCM.

Just FYI

Thanks for the enlightenment...
Anyway...it is possible to splice a new wire to the present one?
Will it cause any distortion with signal sent?
I was told that splicing wires will cause the ecu goes crazy...true?
Thx guys
