Default Engine running crappy

Hey so I've had a couple friends tell me things but I'm not exactly sure why my engine does this. I got this annoying engine tick coming from the top of my engine (I think not sure) it gets faster as my rpms increase. My engine also randomly stutters when I'm driving I get it to stop by letting off of the gas. I think this is because my check engine light said my fuel system was running lean and I also had three codes about o2 sensors. Mind you I do not have a catalytic converter so I don't even have a down stream o2 sensor. What are your guys ideas as to what I can do to fix it?

P.S. sorry this is so long.

That's great that you've got the codes (you know you can copy/paste from the Notes app, right?) but you sort of forgot to tell us everything else. I assume you drive an XJ? What year?

The codes indicate you have some wiring fault. Shorting = bad. Start looking for chewed and melted wires. As a result you may need new fuses and O2 sensors. But check wiring first.

You'll also want to replace that cat.

Oh yeah sorry. It's a 99 cherokee 4.0L. Where should I start looking for bad wires? Just follow every wire I can find and see if its bad? And I do plan on replacing the cat this summer with a nice hi flow one.

I added half a quart of oil and the ticking sound seems to have gone away for now. How would that work??

Yeah but not that low haha It was just barely below the full line and oil pressure was fine.
