I have a '91 w/5 speed, need a new 4.0 (or rebuilt or used), will a '98 fit? Also after looking at numerous engine rebuild sites, they all specify automatics, what, if any, differences are there between an auto and a stick? Also does $500 sound like a fair price? There'll be a couple hundred in fuel costs to go get it on top of that. I can get a rebuilt with a 5 year unlimited mileage for $1300, little less than double the price of a used one. Thanks. Don't think this will help you with your question, however, a warranty is worth the 1300 to rebuild in my opinion.

 

The 98 engine will not have provisions for the temperature sending unit.
