Getting a new grommet and elbow soon!
Thanks for the help guys!
Tell him to pickup a new grommet, and a PCV valve with a 90*

Grind or cut the bottom off the pcv valve so the guts fall out. You just made a new elbow.

Or you can order one which will cost more, and take longer to get the same results.

I typically check my oil and other fluids (not the coolant) while im pumping gas. My jeep doesnt burn or leak oil, its just good to stay ontop of it.

Checking for loose bolts is kind of silly.

I can respect that, and I think that is great. Sometimes it's hard to pick the pepper from the fly ****, so be aware.

That means it's hard to know what is good advice and what is not.

This can save you a lot of money in the long run "Before things HAPPEN". In fact I just told my Grand Daughter this Sunday when she brought a new to her car she had just bought a 2012 Malibu with 38,000 mi. for me to see.

Love to hear about a young lady that wants to learn about her cars, to be able to repair them or to know when someone is trying to rip her off on a repair.

If you like to go off road in your XJ one of the "most important things" you need to do is check all the nuts and bolts on the suspension and steering. Along with that are any bent or excessively worn parts in it. They will be worn and loose many times and easy to spot.

I check mine the day before I plan on going on an off road trail ride as it takes a beating my wife has the things she checks also we split the work.
