engine light
alright after playing in the mud last night jeep quit after hour of driving last night. got it home and running. engine light is on and ive never extracted codes from a cherokee before without a scanner. its a 92 4.0 auto
ive done it on many other obdI cars. any body help me out?
its running like its got a miss so this should be able to help me pin point it.

it's very easy on OBD-I.
using the key in the ignition, without turning the engine over:
off - on - off - on - off - on
after a few seconds the light will go off, then start flashing.
the flashes should be counted to form numbers, with pauses in between. (2 digit #s)
for example...
flash flash flash.....flash flash...... = code 32
the sequence will always end with code 55 (end of codes).
then just look at a guide to find out what the codes mean, or post them here.

thanks man. it gave me the code for the map sensor. looked at it and it looked plugged in but i undid it and plugged it in again and runs better! thanks!!

cool man. Might be a vacuum leak at one of the hoses. If it comes back i'd look at replacing them.

no its back to normal. thanks tho!
now gutting the floor in the jeep is taking forever. with it being cold as **** in new england my rug is freezing which is taking 2x as long to pull out
