So I have an 88 Laredo 4.0 and the other day it started making a noise, and after poking around figured out that its coming from somewhere in the oil pan / tranny bell housing area. It's sounds like metal on metal scraping, but it's intermittent. It reminded me of what my motor mount sounded like when the bolt that connects it to the Frame broke, but I checked all my mounts and they are fine. Like I said it sounds like its coming from the oil pan but I can't quite pin point it. Does any one have any ideas besides start taking it apart and look for shiny metal?

And it happens mostly when I'm between 1250-1500 ish rpms or in reverse
