Default engine just keeps reving once over 30mph

hey guys, once i started having this problem i knew exactly who to ask, you guys!!
well to start off its a 87 laredo, 4.0 automatic. 4.5 in lift. with 33's..
and the problem is that when on the freeway once i get over 35mph it looses power and just keeps reving up, but no power to the wheels. but when i shift it into 3. it drives just fine, in 3 i can drive up to 65 mph on the freeway with no problem...i was thinking it could be a sensor..maybe cps..
well hopefully you guys can help me find out what the problem is..thanks for your help

Check your throttle position sensor

If the TPS is good then check your tranny fluids if its good.

It can be your governor pressure if your tranny has it?

If all else doesn't ring then it can be tranny slipping or your torque converter going bad. My gut tells me it is your TPS sensor.
