Engine ID Help, Don't know what this came out of
OK my friend gave me a 4.0 Engine, long story but his son wrecked his cherokee, and they had just rebuilt everything. Unfortunatlly they swapped that motor in and can't remeber what the engine came out of. Ok the problem is I've noticed small changes the biggest on is there was 2 grounds on the block behind the alternator, on this block they aren't there. I'm having over heating issues and trying to find out if that engine needs CW or CCW Water pump.

If you have V6, it is 2.8 GM from 1984. 3 cylinders- Geo Metro, 12 cylinders from Jaguar/BMW/Ferrari
2000 have bolt holes for ignition coil.
