Default Engine Hood won’t open

So the other day I was getting gas and it was pretty warm. Sometimes my jeep experiences heat soak. So I popped my hood while pumping gas to help eliminate that. Then like a dumb*** I drove off with it not latched in, I hit 40mph and wam the hood folded back all the way to my roof. Windshield is good thankfully, and the hood is a little dinged up. But the problem is my hood won’t open up properly anymore it hits the plastic cover that the wipers are on, that’s cracked and I need to get a new, but even if I do I feel like my hood won’t open right and break the new one. Any idea on what I can do? New hood, new hood brackets? It opens fine once I take the plastic off, it’s just doesn’t clear it with it on.

Anyone sell just the hinges? Rather then getting a part out or junk yard one ?

There is some room for adjustment. You can loosen the bolts holding the hinge to the hood and move it around. Worst case, you can elongate the adjustment holes if it's close. I did this on an XJ that had a front end collision. It's not perfect, but close enough.

The safety catch in center front of hood should have prevented the catastrophic opening at speed. make sure it is fully functional. It has held mine down even at freeway speeds when I have not fully closed the hood do to brain fog. Your safety latch was not working right.
